CONCRETE RESTORATION

CONCRETE RESTORATION

Concrete restoration involves repairing, revitalizing, and enhancing the appearance and structural integrity of deteriorated or damaged concrete surfaces. This service is typically used when surfaces have suffered from environmental conditions, aging, or poor construction. Instead of replacing concrete entirely, restoration aims to return the surface to its original state or even improve it.

Over time, concrete can be damaged by exposure to climatic elements, excessive loading, corrosion of internal reinforcement or natural aging processes. Currently concrete companies, we are using a process to restore it, as experts recommend to perform:

    1. Repair of Cracks and Fissures

Cracks in concrete can be due to shrinkage, soil settlement, overloading or exposure to climatic changes. Depending on their size and depth, solutions include:

    • Sealing with epoxy or polyurethane resins: ideal for small to medium cracks.
    • Epoxy injection: Used in structures with deep cracks that require structural reinforcement.
    • Replacement of damaged sections: For large cracks with loss of material.
    1. Repairing Worn Surfaces

Worn concrete can be restored with different methods:

    • Repair mortar overlay: Application of a fresh coat over the damaged surface.
    • Microcement or self-compacting concrete: Provides a smooth, uniform finish.
    • Resurfacing or concrete overlay: Improves the appearance and strength of the existing slab.

For those cases in wich the damage has been very deep, it is advisable to replace the concrete by demolition and reconstruction of the structure.
